Microfiber is an extremely popular material for cleaning tools, as it’s incredibly absorbent, captures dust and dirt more effectively than cotton, and can be reused multiple times. Given this long list of benefits, it’s no wonder people—myself included—are intrigued by the Microfiber Wholesale Professional Microfiber Mop. This seemingly simple mop claims to deliver professional-grade cleaning power using only water—sounds too good to be true, right? I wanted to see if this popular product is really the only floor-cleaning tool you’ll ever need, so I put it to the test on some truly grimy floors. Here’s what I found.

Setup: Ready to go

Right out of the box, the Microfiber Wholesale Professional Microfiber Mop is ready to be used. It comes assembled, so all you have to do is attach one of its three cleaning pads, and you’re good to go.

Cleaning Performance: Tackles dust, hair, and dirt

When I first looked at the Microfiber Wholesale Professional Microfiber Mop, I was kind of confused about how to use it. After all, isn’t the point of mops that you dunk them in soapy water as you clean? This mop head is a whopping 18 inches wide, and there’s no way it was going to fit into any bucket.  I delved into the instructions and found that you’re supposed to wet the microfiber pad on its own before attaching it to the mop. My next question was obviously, “How well will this mop clean if it doesn’t use soap?” It seemed strange, but I was determined to follow the instructions.  To put this mop to the test, I decided to use it in my parents’ living room, which is covered in vinyl tile and is where their 100-pound, overly fluffy dog spends most of her time. My mom’s response when I told her I was going to mop was, “Good luck with that.” I started out with the dry sweeping pad, which was easy to attach to the mop head thanks to the hook-and-loop fasteners. It picked up a borderline gross amount of dust and hair as I navigated around the room. (Don’t judge my parents—they Swiffer frequently; the dog really just sheds that much.) Next, I followed the instructions and wet the microfiber mopping pad, then wrung it out. I swapped the sweeping pad for the wet one and got to work mopping the floor. It was easy to push the mop around the room, and I didn’t need to rewet the microfiber pad. However, you might need to rinse and wet it again if you’re cleaning an extra-large area.  I’m not going to lie—I was skeptical about how well this mop could clean using just water. Even after going around the room, the mop pad didn’t look that dirty. However, when I rinsed the pad out, it was like a mudslide coming out of the microfiber fabric. I have no idea where all that dirt was hiding, but I was extremely impressed that it managed to pick up all that grime.  While I wanted to follow the instructions to test out this mop, I don’t see why you couldn’t also soak the microfiber pad in a mixture of water and your go-to floor cleaning solution for an even deeper clean.  Interested in reading more reviews? Design and Comfort: Simple yet functional

There’s nothing fancy about the Microfiber Wholesale Professional Microfiber Mop. It’s simply an extra-large head on a telescoping wand. The handle works perfectly, and I really like that it extends to as long as 70 inches.  The oversized mop head is ideal for cleaning large rooms, as you cover more ground with every pass. Plus, the swivel handle lets you get underneath furniture easily, so you can quickly sweep out all the dust from under the couch. The only downside is that because the head is so big, it’s a bit challenging to fit into tight nooks and crannies.  Want a smaller mop? Included Accessories: Extra cleaning cloths

Many mops simply come with one mop head, but not this one! You get two wet microfiber pads, a dry sweeping pad, and two bonus microfiber cleaning cloths. I especially like that there’s an extra microfiber pad, which is convenient in case you don’t do laundry that frequently—you’ll always have an extra on hand.

Ease of Cleaning: Toss it in the wash

Another huge benefit of the Microfiber Wholesale Professional Microfiber Mop is that all its cleaning pads can go in the washer and dryer. All you have to do is pull them off the mop head using the convenient pull tab! This saves you the hassle of wringing out a gross, dirty mop, and the pads can be used again and again after washing.  While the microfiber mopping pad came out of the wash looking as good as new, I was disappointed to see that some of the stitching on the dry sweeping pad was unraveling after it went through the dryer.

Price: A little steep

As much as I loved this mop, I’m not sure it’s really worth almost $40. There are many mops out there at around the $20 price point, and some of them even include buckets and other accessories. With that in mind, $40 does seem a little steep for a mop and a few pads, even if it is high quality.

Microfiber Wholesale Professional Microfiber Mop vs. O-Cedar EasyWring Spin Mop & Bucket System

If you’re looking for a more traditional mop-and-bucket set, the O-Cedar EasyWring Microfiber Spin Mop, which I also tested, might catch your eye. This product also uses microfiber for wet and dry mopping, but its quality isn’t as high as the Microfiber Wholesale Professional Mop. While the O-Cedar’s unique spinning system is helpful for getting just the right level of moisture, its mop handle feels flimsy and poorly made, so it’s not a good option for those who mop frequently. If you’re tired of lugging around a mop and bucket to clean the floors in your home, you won’t be sorry you invested in the Microfiber Wholesale Professional Microfiber Mop. Its large head makes quick work of even the largest rooms, and it picks up dirt like nobody’s business, even if you just use water on it.
