Even fans who already own and use the Adventure Quencher will want to get their hands on this new version, since many of the Quencher tumbler’s features received improvements in this go around, including the type of stainless steel used. Just don’t wait too long to hit add to cart since this upgraded version is sure to sell out fast, too! Aside from my piqued curiosity (thanks TikTok), the original Quencher had several intriguing features that made me buy it. The most compelling was the lid that could be screwed on in either direction, making it compatible for both left- and right-handed users. As a lefty who has forever been using coffee cups and travel mugs “backwards,” I’m especially grateful for the thoughtfulness behind this design. I also can’t pass up a tumbler with a straw. Before buying the Adventure Quencher, I used a YETI Rambler 30-Ounce Tumbler as my everyday water bottle, which also features a straw, but it suffered several drops when I was carrying one too many things because it does not have a handle like the Stanley tumbler. Just like the original Quencher, this new tumbler has impressive cooling capabilities thanks to double-wall vacuum insulation. However, one difference in materials is the Quencher H2.0 FlowState Tumbler is also made from material composed of 90 percent recycled stainless steel to match Stanley’s commitment to sustainability. I love that this tumbler keeps my water cold for an entire day, and that I can switch between using a straw or sipping out of the regular opening. I’ve also left ice overnight in the tumbler on multiple occasions and it barely melts. One common complaint buyers of the original Quencher tumbler had was how much the lid leaked. The Quencher H2.0 FlowState Tumbler aims to fix that issue with its upgraded splash-resistant straw and a full-cover closure on the lid. While this latest version is a big step up when it comes to the lid, the keyword here is still splash-resistant, and not leak-proof. Keep in mind that Stanley does not use the term “leak-proof” anywhere in their marketing of the tumbler and only refers to it as “splash-resistant, “no-splash,” or “spill-resistant.” I found that this redesigned tumbler still lets out a few drops even when the lid is firmly screwed all the way shut. While this may be disappointing to some users, I don’t consider it a deal breaker, as the overall amount of possible water spillage is much improved. However, if you’re looking for a fully leak-proof tumbler, consider opting for Stanley’s Iceflow Flip Straw Tumble, which is available in 20- and 30-ounce sizes.Another design improvement is the ergonomic handle, which has a new “comfort grip” on the outside and inside, making it easier and more comfortable to hold. While I didn’t find that this feature drastically changed my user experience, I appreciated the extra grip that the padding offers while carrying multiple items in my hand and it does feel more natural to grip than the original version. The redesigned handle also feels more purposefully designed to me compared to the Adventure Quencher handle, which almost felt like a last-minute design addition. While the straws on both the original and the new tumbler feel a bit cheap to me, I do appreciate that the straw is made from BPA-free plastic and is dishwasher-safe, just like the rest of the tumbler’s parts. The overall dimensions of the new tumbler are also slightly different. Most notably: The slim base of the tumbler is slightly smaller than the original design. The Adventure Quencher has a 10.38-inch circumference at the widest point of its base, while the H2.0 FlowState has a 9.88-inch circumference. The base is also slightly shorter (one-fourth of an inch, to be exact) on the H2.0 Flowstate. While these measurement differences are minor and may be insignificant to the tumbler’s actual performance at keeping drinks cold, it does make a difference for some users who complained that the Adventure Quencher did not fit in their car cup holders. Overall, I love how this new Quencher offers an upgraded version of each of its already-loved design features. In addition to its impressive cooling capabilities and overall thoughtful design, a commitment to sustainability is always a noteworthy cause. The Stanley Quencher H2.0 FlowState Tumbler 40-ounce size is available in nine, two-toned colors ranging from black to a mustard yellow.
