Material: Incredibly soft and no shedding

The Qbedding Inc. Microplush Flannel Fleece Blanket is made of 100 percent polyester. The first thing we noticed about this blanket is that it’s incredibly soft to the touch. The blanket comes in 14 colors to match almost any decor. In addition to a nice selection of solid colors, the blanket can be ordered in several leopard prints—perfect if you’re looking to add some flair to your home. It’s also available in four different sizes: throw (50 x 60 inches), Twin (59 x 78 inches), Queen (78 x 90 inches), and King (102 x 90 inches).  This blanket has some distinct features that set it apart from the competition. Since it has a higher pile and longer fibers, the microplush fabric is superior to fleece. It’s also softer and more durable. According to the manufacturer, this blanket is produced with a quality German dye, making it highly resistant to static and shedding. The first day we cuddled up with it, we purposely wore all black to see if it would leave any fibers behind. As promised, there was no shedding, unlike other wool-blend blankets we’ve owned in the past. The blanket seems pretty good at resisting hair as well. We have two dogs and we didn’t find any pet hair on the blanket, despite having used it on various pieces of furniture throughout the house.  There was one issue, however: We weren’t thrilled with the quality of the stitching. A few of the stitches were coming loose and the hem wasn’t sewn entirely even. If you’re in the market for a basic throw blanket, the craftsmanship probably isn’t a dealbreaker. However, we wouldn’t give this item as a gift nor would we recommend it to someone that prefers a sophisticated design. As a simple throw it works just fine, but if you’re looking for a luxurious, high-end throw to drape over furniture, this probably isn’t the blanket for you. Weighing only 1.7 pounds, this throw is extremely lightweight. In the warm summer months, it’s perfect for us. We felt cozy underneath it and it didn’t create any unnecessary heat. However, it doesn’t have the satisfying heft of a high-quality wool or faux-fur throw. We will probably retire this blanket once cold weather hits. We prefer a heavier blanket in the wintertime, especially since our house gets chilly.

Care: Machine washable and dryer safe

After a few days of cuddling up with the blanket, we put it in the washing machine for a good cleanup. Following the manufacturer’s instructions, we ran it on a cold cycle and found that the blanket took on a lot of water. We often prefer to line dry our laundry to prevent shrinkage in the dryer, but since the blanket was so wet, we figured it would take forever to dry naturally. We put it in the dryer for about 25 minutes and lowered the heat to delicate. The blanket was still damp after the cycle had ended. We turned up the heat a bit and let it dry for another ten minutes. Once fully dried, we were pleased to find that it had maintained its shape and softness. The dryer had eliminated most of the wrinkles, but two deep creases were still visible.

Price: Very affordable

The Qbedding Inc. Microplush Flannel Fleece Blanket ranges in price from $17 to $36 depending on the size you choose. It doesn’t have the look of a premium throw blanket, but it serves the same purpose and at less than half the price. Considering its super soft texture and durability, it’s more than worth its reasonable price tag. If you’re looking for something more stylish or sophisticated, you’ll likely have to spend a bit more.
