It did a fine job of absorbing moisture, but it didn’t feel all that pleasant against my skin. This was my first time using a linen towel, and I found the material to be a lot coarser than cotton. The towel isn’t rough, but it doesn’t have a soft and cozy feeling either. I was hoping the towel would soften up in the wash—no such luck. The towel was noticeably wet after I dried my hair with it. However, the moisture evaporated very quickly, and the towel was fully dry in less than an hour. The Linoto Linen Spa Bath Sheet comes in five neutral colors: ecru, white, oyster, graphite, and navy. I ordered mine in graphite, which is an off-black shade. Since linen is resistant to mold and mildew, these towels are ideal for warmer climates and homes lacking proper airflow. After several days of consecutive use without washing, the towel didn’t pick up any musty odors.
How is the sizing?
The bath sheet measures 27 inches wide and 48 inches long—smaller than a standard towel. I am of average height and weight for a woman and usually wear a size medium. The towel barely wrapped around my body, so it likely won’t suffice for larger adults. Linoto has the same offering in a “spa towel,” a larger version that measures 66 x 36 inches. These towels are only available online, so take the tape measure to the towels you currently have and see what the size difference will be before placing your order.
What are the care instructions?
The towel does not have a care instructions tag, so I had to refer to the manufacturer’s website. Linoto recommends against detergents or brightening agents; biodegradable laundry soap is preferred. Dark-colored towels should be machine-washed in cold water; you can use warm water for whites and neutrals. Air-drying is best for linen’s longevity, but towels can be tumble-dried on the lowest heat setting.
Is the towel worth buying?
Linoto’s offerings are costly. A small set of two bath sheets, two hand towels, and two washcloths costs about $350. These towels are not budget-friendly, but they may be worth the splurge when you consider their durability. Made from heavy-duty linen, this towel seems built to last. After use daily and going through the wash multiple times, the towel has kept its shape and smooth, sturdy texture.
Linoto Linen Spa Bath Sheet vs. the Competition
Linen towels stand apart—really no other towels are like them. If you compare Linoto towels to other types of towels, for example, towels that super-soft, then Frontgate Resort Cotton Bath Towels is an excellent choice. Starting at $24 for a set of two, they are a lot easier on your wallet. These towels are available in a wide range of colors and are generously sized compared to Linoto’s bath sheets. Frontgate’s bath towels measure 30 inches by 58 inches, providing extra length and width so you can wrap yourself cozily. Since they’re thicker than the Linoto line, they will take longer to dry. Brooklinen Super-Plush Bath Towels offer blanket-like softness. Made from 100 percent Turkish cotton, these towels also earn accolades for their durability and absorbency. At $69 for a set of two bath towels, they are significantly less than a single Linoto Linen Bath Sheet. Brooklinen’s plush offerings’ biggest drawback is a long drying time: Reviewers say their towels took more than 24 hours to air dry. As a personal preference, linen would not be my top choice for a material in towels. I opt for a plusher cotton blend. That said, when it comes to absorbency and a quick drying time, the Linoto Linen Spa Bath Sheet is a stellar performer. If you are a linen fan, you probably won’t mind shelling out the money for a superior quality towel.
